Really really well done. I had lived in The Atlanta for several years but this provided me with info that I had not known. prior. Keep up the oustanding work.

i really love southern accents---but----- i watched the show about mentone al. on friday-aug. 8th and we got in the car and drove there. the restaurants you spoke about are most of them CLOSED and the ones that are open with the exception of one-where we ate is only open for breakfast and lunch [whats up with that ???] the rest. that we finally found did not have a grill or a deep fryer. we forgot to make sure they took credit cards--they did not[ this we found out after we ate] between the 3 of us we had enough but we had no idea there was a town that did not take cc our waitress said she didn't know if anyone in town took cc. my point is you really need to update your shows--they told us several restaurants have been closed several years----looking forward to new and updated shows--- Jean Linn

Jean, We are delighted you are a faithful viewer of Southern Accents and I am so sorry to learn of your experience in Mentone. I too would have been caught off guard by a restaurant that doesn't take credit cards, particularly when I am on the road. Unfortunately we shot that show two years ago and the shows often air in repeats for three years. I think you may be referring to Dessie's with the great okra and fish. If I recall correctly there may have been an illness in the family that eventually necessitated the closure of that restaurant. A check of www.visitdekalb.com updated the fact that the Mentone Smoke House had changed ownership as well. We did feel that the history of the area and shops warranted keeping the show on the air, but often in these small towns shops close, are closed at odd times or go out of business all together with out letting us know of changes. Thank you for watching the show and we'll have 13 new episodes airing weekly beginning in February. We hope you'll join us.

In some cases, a better location description may be necessary for highlighted sites. For example, Belvidere and also Primm Springs are not listed in the typical Rand McNally Road Atlas. It would be helpful if you mentioned a nearby larger city as a map reference for viewers who wish to locate a site for a visit.

I must have seen a rerun, because its not on the season 17 list above. A visit to a flower farm, seems like folks showed up in cars and busses could just stoll and enjoy the beauty but the plants were for sale?
