Memoirs of a Geisha

Arthur Golden's debut work was published in 1997 and sold more than 4 million copies in English before being translated into 32 languages. Memoirs of a Geisha became a major motion picture in 2005 and the novel traves the life of a fictional geisha from an impoverished beginning through the nation's transitions in a time of war and beyond. This powerful work was hailed by the New York Times review as "an impressive and unusual debut."

Guests of Studio 45 will hear about the making of Memoirs of a Geisha and get the scoop on his upcoming book, another historical fiction that will take readers from the Europe to America in the turbulent 1800's.
