Become a part of "the Academy Awards for non-profits" in our community by sponsoring WTCI's inaugural Be More Awards™ . The mission of WTCI’s Be More Awards™ is to generate awareness for non-profit organizations, champion those organizations’ unsung heroes and celebrate the spirit of goodwill throughout the community. The Be More Awards™ winners will be announced and honored at a luncheon on March 3, 2010, at The Chattanoogan Hotel with guest speaker Judy Woodruff, Broadcast Journalist and Senior Correspondent for PBS Newshour.
All elements of the WTCI Be More Awards™ event—and in turn the Awards’ sponsors—will be promoted extensively through an aggressive cross-platform marketing campaign. This campaign includes broadcast, online, social media, print and, equally important, marketing by the nonprofits themselves as they solicit supporters to vote for them in the race for the Be More People’s Choice Award and to attend the Be More Awards™ luncheon. Some of the sponsorship benefits and exposure include:
WTCI will produce a one-hour television show honoring the winners in all six categories. This special show will air on WTCI several times in the weeks following the awards ceremony, bringing even more attention to the deserving winners of our community and to the sponsors who help make the awards possible.
The WTCI Be More™ Awards initiative will be promoted extensively via a media campaign for print, television and radio exposure. Sponsors will be recognized in all campaign efforts, providing an opportunity for sponsors to reach tens of thousands in our community.
The WTCI Be More™ Awards come alive online with a special web page featuring application materials, online voting, ceremony details and more. The deadline for applications was December 1st. With hundreds of users daily, our station web-site will drive users to the Be More Awards ™ page. The People’s Choice award will help drive additional traffic to the site, resulting in more exposure for sponsors.
The Be More Awards™ luncheon will be held on March 3, 2010, at The Chattanoogan Hotel with guest speaker Judy Woodruff. The event will draw local civic leaders, non-profit luminaries and hundreds of their supporters and guests to recognize winners and to celebrate the best in the community. Six awards will be given, and each recipient will receive a beautiful custom-designed trophy by Ignis Glass.

I am thrilled to see an animal-related nonprofit group as one of the finalists. Wally's Friends not only changes the lives of dogs and cats, but also makes life better for their owners who no longer have to worry about unwanted litters. Their impact in the community in terms of combating the pet overpopulation problem is extraordinary.
