He excelled as an actor, a businessman, a driver, and a humanitarian.  Obviously his passing is a great loss to those of us who love great acting.  Cool Hand Luke, The Hustler, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the list goes on and on, but I think beyond the iconic performances, I'll remember his generosity.  His company's motto, "Shameless Exploitation in Pursuit of the Common Good," exemplified Newman's great wit and his passion for giving.  Of his business "Newman's Own", he once said, "the embarrassing thing is that the salad dressing is outgrossing my films". Newman's Own has donated over 250 million dollars to charity. Newman's contributions will continue to make an impact, long after we say goodbye.
