WTCI Documentary Wins Three Emmy Awards

WTCI is proud to announce Untamed Legacy: America’s Wild Mustang, a WTCI original documentary, has won three Emmy® awards. The awards were given in the Documentary, Writing and Photography categories at the 26th Annual Midsouth Regional Emmy® Awards ceremony March 17, 2012, in Nashville.

Untamed Legacy is a documentary focusing on the mustang’s struggles in the wild as resources for its survival diminish. The program was shot in parts of Tennessee, Alabama, Nevada and New Mexico and chronicles a mustang named Charlie on his journey from the wild to his new home in Alabama, and all the people he touches along the way.

"We are proud of this documentary which showcases the efforts of passionate people reaching out to save the wild mustang and how these magnificent creatures can have a positive impact on the lives of the people they touch," said Paul Grove, President and CEO of WTCI. "We are honored to be recognized with these awards.”

The documentary was produced by WTCI’s production team of Executive Producer Peter DeLynn, Writer/Producer Jen Noble, Director of Photography Alex Gazio and Graphic Designer/Editor Sergio Plecas. The documentary is narrated by Jack Perkins.

The Midsouth region of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences encompasses all television markets in Tennessee, most markets in North Carolina, and the Huntsville, Alabama market.
