Large Crowd Attends Live Congressional Debate at PBS

WTCI, Chattanooga's community PBS station, hosted a live, televised debate between U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann and challenger Dr. Mary Headrick.  Chattanooga Times Free Press Business Editor and Tennessee Insider panelist Dave Flessner moderated the debate in front of a full house at the Bonny Oaks public television station.  Over 120 guests filled the studio for the live debate. WTCI and Times Free Press Host Congressional Debate on October 27, 2014

WTCI, Chattanooga's community PBS station, will partner with the Chattanooga Times Free Press to host a debate between the Republican and Democratic candidates in Tennessee’s Third Congressional District at WTCI on October 27, 2014. U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann and challenger Dr. Mary Headrick have agreed to a debate which will be broadcast live beginning at 8pm from WTCI.  Chattanooga Times Free Press Business Editor and Tennessee Insider panelist Dave Flessner will moderate the debate.  In addition to the live broadcast, the debate will be streamed live online by the Times Free Press and WTCI.  Read More...

WTCI Gives GoPro Camera & Training to Life Academy Students

Last Saturday, September 6, the new class of the 100 Black Men of Chattanooga’s LIFE (Living in Full Expectation) Academy received a GoPro camera as a part of a PBS community engagement grant from WTCI. At the hour-long event, the class heard from Mayor Andy Berke on the importance of community service. Richard Johnson has been named Vice President of Development at WTCI, Chattanooga’s community PBS station. Richard came to WTCI from Virginia College School of Business and Health where he managed Career Services, Marketing and Development. As Vice President of Development, Richard will guide WTCI through a development campaign that will position the PBS station to better serve its 24-county region, using his experience in building business by helping clients identify regional trends and applying them to marketing strategies and promotions.
