WTCI TO HOST TELEVISED HAMILTON COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD DEBATES ON JULY 14, 2016


WTCI will broadcast a Hamilton County School Board debate on Thursday, July 14 at 8 PM.  Eyewitness News anchor Greg Glover will moderate the debate presented by the Hamilton County PTA Council, the JFK Club of Chattanooga and the Hamilton County Pachyderm Club. 

Candidates competing in Districts 1, 2, 4 and 7 will debate in front of a live studio audience on July 12th in the WTCI Studio at 7540 Bonnyshire Drive, Chattanooga, TN and the broadcast will air on WTCI at 8 PM on Thursday, July 14.  An encore broadcast will air on Sunday, July 17th at 1:00 PM. Chattanooga 2.0 has focused our attention on the link between quality education and economic prosperity for our community.  We are pleased to continue the conversation on-air with these candidates.

In District 1 incumbent Rhonda Thurman will face challengers Jason Moses and Dr. Patti Skates.  District 2 incumbent, Dr. Jonathan Welch, will debate challenger Kathy Lennon and in District 4 the incumbent, George Ricks, will face challengers Montrell Besley and Tiffanie Robinson.  Candidate Annette Thompson was invited but has not responded.  District 7 incumbent Donna Horn will debate challenger Joe Wingate.
