WTCI TO HOST FREE PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION WORKSHOPS FOR AREA EDUCATORS
WTCI will host a series of free professional development sessions for area educators January 3, 4 and 7th. These one-hour sessions will prepare them to use over 140,000 digital learning resources from PBS KIDS and PBSLearningMedia.org to support success in education for children from Kindergarten to Grade 12.
These free sessions will introduce online and on-air resources to educators supporting students from 3 years old to 12th grade and beyond. Workbooks will be provided that include asset overviews, links to resources and examples of classroom lesson plans, interactive elements and activity sheets.
PBS programs will be explored with a tour of free resources that are available on web and hand-held device platforms, including games, apps, videos, lesson plans and curriculum-based digital resources that are available free for educators, students and families. Additional resources include GED Resources and Educator Professional Development Resources.
Educators will tour the facility, visit the region's largest studio and explore the digital resources and programming available for use at home, on the go, in the classroom and beyond. Guests are encouraged to bring phones, tablets and laptops. Wireless access is provided.
