WTCI will air “Jordan Smith ‘Tis the Season” at 10 PM on December 24 and at 1 PM on Christmas Day, December 25th. The holiday special spotlights music from Jordan Smith’s new Christmas album, “Tis the Season.” The powerhouse vocalist and season nine winner of NBC’s ‘The Voice,” stars in his very first one-hour concert special for public television.

A Lee University alum, Jordan Smith is the biggest-selling “The Voice” artist to date and was the first artist of the season to reach Number 1 on the iTunes Store pop songs list and three of his recordings bumped Adele’s platinum-selling “Hello” from the top spot on the iTunes list. “As a community PBS station we are proud to share this exciting holiday concert with our viewers,” says WTCI President and CEO Paul Grove. “Celebrating an artist with such strong local ties is an exciting part of our mission to tell the stories that make the Tennessee Valley region so culturally strong.”

Produced by multiple Grammy ® Award-winning composer and songwriter David Foster this special concert will feature many of the songs on the holiday special, including his personal favorite, “(You’re a Mean One) Mr. Grinch” and is led by Jordan’s musical director Cheche Alara and backed by a string and horns/woodwind section that showcases the Harlan, Kentucky native singing 12 classic and popular songs.
